Yet, I have learned it is imperative to bear in mind that each day indeed presents a fresh opportunity to make strides towards your objectives. Chemotherapy Recovery Journey
When it comes to recovering after chemotherapy every patient's journey is unique to their own battle. Your body is strong, resilient, and intelligently complex. I could not plan ahead during my chemotherapy journey all I could do was take life one day at a time. Sometimes, that is the best and only option we have been given. Make sure to prioritize rest, eat a healthy and balanced diet with greens and fruits, stay hydrated, and engage in gentle exercise when you are able such as yoga or walking.
Trust in your body's ability to heal and take the time you need to recover fully. My recovery time for Ewings Sarcoma is two years. When the doctors said you're in for a long journey I never anticipated a three year journey, but here I am. I was a committed runner before I was diagnosed running 12-15 miles every week. After 49 chemotherapy treatments at Dana Farber, those toxins did a number on my bone marrow. As of 2024, I am still unable to run but I hope so to one day.
